Terms & Conditions

The Cotswold Magazine – Advertising, Directory & Subscription Services

These Terms & Conditions apply to businesses, organisations and individuals purchasing advertising, directory listings or other promotional services from The Cotswold Magazine.

By purchasing or agreeing to one of our advertising or promotional services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Subscription & Recurring Payments

When you sign up for an advertising package, directory listing or other service identified as a subscription, you are signing up to an ongoing subscription plan.

Your subscription will continue and payments will become due at the agreed billing frequency until the subscription is cancelled in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the payment and contact information supplied to us remains accurate and up to date.

2. Cancellation

If you wish to cancel an ongoing subscription, we require at least one month’s notice.

Cancellation requests must be provided to us in writing.

Your subscription and any applicable payments will continue during the notice period. Cancelling a subscription does not automatically cancel or refund advertising, directory listings or services that have already been booked, produced, published or invoiced.

3. Payments & Invoices

Invoices issued by The Cotswold Magazine are due for payment immediately upon receipt, unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

We do not operate on standard 30-day payment terms.

Customers should therefore not assume that an invoice can be paid within 30 days unless this has been specifically agreed with us beforehand.

4. Failure to Pay

Advertising and promotional space is subject to payment.

If an invoice is not paid when required, we reserve the right to:

  • Reject or withdraw your advertising, listing or submission;
  • Suspend your subscription or service;
  • Remove an unpaid listing from our website or directory; and/or
  • Allocate the reserved advertising space to another customer.

We are not responsible for a customer’s advertisement being omitted from an edition where the required payment has not been received by the applicable deadline.

5. Refunds

Payments made to The Cotswold Magazine are generally non-refundable once the relevant advertising, production, design, directory or publishing service has begun or the advertising space has been committed, subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded.

If we are unable to provide a paid service due to circumstances within our control, we will consider the appropriate remedy based on the circumstances, which may include moving the booking to another edition or providing a refund where legally required.

6. Advertising Space

Advertising space is subject to availability and is not guaranteed until the booking has been accepted by us and any required payment has been received.

Premium positions and specific page locations are subject to availability.

Unless a particular position has been expressly confirmed in writing, we reserve the right to determine the final placement of an advertisement within the publication.

7. Advertising Material & Deadlines

Customers are responsible for supplying all required advertising material by the deadline provided by The Cotswold Magazine.

Advertising material should be supplied in a suitable format and at a sufficient quality for publication.

Late submissions may not be included in the intended edition. Where space has already been reserved, failure to provide the required material by the deadline does not necessarily remove the customer’s payment obligations.

8. Accuracy of Advertising

The customer is responsible for checking the accuracy of all information supplied for publication, including:

business names, telephone numbers, email addresses, website addresses, prices, offers, dates and other advertising claims.

Where a proof is supplied, customers should carefully check it before approval.

Once an advertisement has been approved and sent for publication, we cannot guarantee that further amendments can be made.

9. Advertisements Supplied by Customers

Customers confirm that they have the necessary permission and rights to use any logos, photographs, artwork, trademarks, wording or other material supplied to The Cotswold Magazine.

The customer is responsible for ensuring their advertisement complies with applicable UK laws, regulations and advertising requirements.

We reserve the right to refuse advertising that we consider inappropriate, misleading, unlawful, offensive or unsuitable for The Cotswold Magazine.

10. Business Directory

Businesses subscribing to our online Business Directory are responsible for providing accurate and current information.

Directory subscriptions continue until cancelled in accordance with our cancellation terms.

We may remove or suspend a directory listing where payment is overdue or where information supplied is misleading, unlawful or inappropriate.

Inclusion within our directory does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee by The Cotswold Magazine of a business, its products or its services.

11. Publication & Distribution

We will make reasonable efforts to publish and distribute The Cotswold Magazine according to our planned schedule.

However, publication dates, distribution arrangements, page numbers, editorial content and other aspects of an edition may occasionally change.

Unless specifically agreed in writing, advertising with The Cotswold Magazine does not guarantee a particular number of enquiries, sales, customers, website visits or other commercial results.

12. Changes to Advertising

Where reasonable and necessary for production, we may make minor adjustments to the size, positioning or formatting of supplied advertising material.

We will not intentionally make material changes to the meaning of an advertisement without the customer’s agreement.

13. Editorial Independence

Payment for advertising does not guarantee editorial coverage, reviews, recommendations or features within The Cotswold Magazine.

Editorial decisions remain at the discretion of the magazine.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The version applicable to a particular booking or subscription will be the version in force when that booking or subscription is made, unless a change is required by law or subsequently agreed with the customer.

15. Contact & Cancellation Requests

Questions regarding advertising, payments, subscriptions or cancellation requests should be sent to The Cotswold Magazine using the contact details published on our website.

Please clearly include your business name, contact name and the service you wish to cancel when submitting a cancellation request.
